Late Alhaj Professor Dr. A. B. M Mafizul Islam Patwari
 
 
Dr. A. B. M. Mofizul Islam Patwari born in 1953, has completed M. A. in English with Honours, and LL.B, M.Phil., Ph.D. in Law. He has also submitted his works for LL.D degree.
 
Dr. Patwari visited many countries of the world for academic purposes. He has carried on studies and research in the different universities and research institutions of India. In Switzerland he undertook training on International humanitarian law at the International Committee of Red Cross, Geneva; attended international workshop on international humanitarian law sponsored by the University of Geneva; completed internship program on human rights organized by the International Labour Organisation, participated briefing sessions on human rights organized by the U. N. Center for Human Rights, UN High Comission for Refugees and International Committee of the Red Cross; and attended different sessions of the Working Groups on Indegenious Peoples and Slavery sponsored by the United Nations.
 
As a Research Scholar he worked on human rights at London School of Economics, University of London; he also worked at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London.He participated twice in the study sessions on human rights and human rights teaching organized by International Institute of Human Rights and International Center for Univarsity Human Rights Teaching, Strasbourg. He participated in the summer school on moral counselling organized by Vrije University, Brussels and  Univarsity Human Rights Teaching, Strasbourg. He attended Humanist World Congress in Brussels and as a study visitor of the International Humanist and Ethical Union, Utrecht, visited almost all the humanist and human rights organizations of the Netherlands.
 
Dr. Patwari was the recipient of many international scholarships or fellowships. He has liaison with many international institutions. He was the President of Humanist and Ethical Association of Bangladesh, which is affiliated to the International Humanist and Ethical Union, Utrecht, the Netherlands. He was also the Editor, Human Rights and Development Review, publised by the Association.
 
Dr. Patwari has written almost 20 (twenty) books and about 35 (thirty five) articles on different branches of law both in English and Bangla Mr. Patwari has Founded many institutions. He is the founder of Dhaka International University, Technical and Vocational Education Institute, Dr. Z. I. Choudhury Agriculture Training and Research Institute, Dr.M. I Patwari Technical and Vocational Education Institute, Humanist and Ethical Association of Bangladesh, Advocate Rokeya Begum Model School, Mollickjan Primary School, Abdul Kader Model High School etc. On 2002 Dr. Patwari completed the Holy Haj on February 6, 2004, he left this material world.
