Admission:
A student having at least four points
or GPA-2 can apply for the (Hons) programs and if a student has at least five points
with graduation can apply for the Masters programs. The minimum requirement for
admission to (Hons) programs is Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from science,
commerce or humanities groups. Polytechnic, agricultural or nursing diploma holders
can also be qualified. In case of Madrasha students, the minimum requirement for
application is Alim certificate.
Diploma Programs:
The minimum requirement for admission
to diploma programs is higher secondary certificate from any group. For other types
of education,

admission office may be contacted
for determining equivalence.
Admission Procedure:
A candidate seeking admission to
a Bachelor degree or diploma program must meet the minimum educational requirements
as such as to submit application for admission, to satisfy admission
requirements, to complete admission formalities and to pay requisite fee.
Application for Admission:
A candidate seeking admission to
a program should apply on the prescribed form for admission with a passport size
colored photograph. The prospectus and application form costing Tk. 100 is available
at
DIU
admission office. All the applicants
must submit their letters of recommendations of the Principal from where he has
passed.
Selection:
The final selection for admission
will be based on the applicant's previous academic records. They will have to produce
all available original certificates/ testimonials and mark sheets/ transcripts of
all the examinations. At the time of admission, candidates will complete the above
formalities must pay the requisite admission fee for the enrollment within the time
specified.

Beside our mother tongue, students
must gain proficiency in English language. They must develop adequate communicative
skills to understand the materials covered by the university curriculum to function
effectively in an English language oriented environment. Thus,

and speak in English effectively.
Information Technology:
Information technology is essential
for gaining knowledge and such technology is integrated into the learning process

DIU
. Students are required to have adequate
competence in using computers through Internet and multimedia.

of information technology.
Academic Session:
The academic year is mainly divided
into two semesters namely Winter & Summer. Winter semester starts in
January and ends in June, Summer semester starts in July and ends in December. Each
semester consists of 26 weeks including examinations. Besides, there is also Fall
semester.
DIU
follows its Holiday List. Daily classes
are scheduled between
8.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
with six days a week basis. In addition,
make up classes or special sessions are scheduled on Friday. Students are also required
to attend seminars, workshops and debates organized by the university.
